We had a great time at our Christmas party today!  Thank you to all of the parents who supported the party by sending our snacks and drinks as well as coming for the fun!  I also want to say thanks to all of you who gave me a Christmas card or gift!  It really meant a lot to me. Have a very Merry Christmas!!!

Treasure chest

Important!!

Parents, please check your child's folder for important forms.  We are going on a fieldtrip to see the Nutcracker next Thursday as a whole school.  I don't have field trip forms from many of you.  Even if you think you did send them in, please fill in another.  Also, we need updated contact information from everyone.  There is a new form in the folder for you to update us with your current phone numbers and contact information.  As always, thank you for your support...

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Dear CCSE students and families,

Happy Thanksgiving!  This year I hope you cherish each moment with your sweet second grader as we enjoy Thanksgiving and time with our families.  Please give each of them a hug from their teacher.  When I count my blessings, I count CCSE as on of the biggest blessings of the year.  I truly am a happy and blessed teacher...  Thank you for the opportunity to serve them and watch them grow.  See them Monday!  God bless you all!

Field trip tomorrow!

We are so excited about our Tennessee Valley Railroad field trip tomorrow.  Please make sure you have sent in permission slips and money by tomorrow morning! If you would like to come, we would love to have you as our guest and helper.  Thank you in advance. 

Cells, tissue, organs

We are studying the human body!  Today the children learned a set of motions to help them with the concept.   

Cells work together to make tissues, tissues work together to make our organs, organs work together to make our bodies!

Ask your child to show you what they have learned! We are growing in science every day!  Stay tuned!

Tennessee Test Time!!!!

Tennessee is a beautiful state!  These past two weeks your child has learned a lot about it! Tomorrow is the test on Tennessee in Mrs. Chacon's class.  Please make sure to check his folder tonight because there will be a test tomorrow over the content on the study guide.  Thanks again for all of your support! 

What do I do with all that candy?

Halloween has come and gone but in the mind of a second grade teacher, it cannot be forgotten.  Today the kids were a bit wirey as would be expected after Halloween and I could tell they had had a great night trick or treating.  If you are like most families... What do you do with all that candy?  Well... donate some!  I am big about postitive behavior management and praising your child when he or she does their best!  Sometimes(not always) I will use a piece of candy as an incentive.  If you want to donate some, I am taking donations!  Thanks again for all you do. I look forward to the months that are coming and continuing to see growth in our second grade students! 

Monday Folders

Beginning today, we will be sending home a special folder including your child's graded work! Please check it on Monday and return it the next day!  Sign the cover sheet and please return all graded papers in the packet! Thanks for your help.

No school

Just a reminder that there is no school tomorrow, Friday October 7. please make sute to make other plans for your son.  While we are  out, have your son practice his math facts with you or research fun facts about matter. We had a great time at Doughnuts with Dad! Even Mrs. Critz's dad joined us on the playground! Thanks to all of you who joined the class.  The boys had fun making their cloud art and telling what they made.  We loved having a doughnut and playing outside.

Welcome to our new blog spot!  You will find important information here and it will be updated weekly!  Let me first say thank you to all of you for your daily support with our boys! We are learning in leaps and bounds.  Today, October 3, 2011, we learned that matter is anything that takes up space and has mass.  We worked with the clock during math and practiced our math facts! We have math homework tonight, lesson 27 part b.  I hope to see everyone turning in homework daily.  Remember, I am here for you!
